Dr. Enriquez completed his Bachelors in Health Science in 1999 and a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2002 from California State University, Northridge. He continued his education at A.T. Still University, earning a Post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2015. He completed a mentorship in spinal cord injury at Craig Hospital and is one of only eight Certified Mulligan Practitioners (CMP) in Hawaii. Dr. Enriquez is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS). He is a Certified Clinical Vestibular Therapist (CCVT) through Emory Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia, and 360 Neuro in Austin, Texas. Meynard completed his Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) through prestigious Regis University and has been inducted as a Fellow by the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. Fellowship training is reserved for the most advanced clinicians in the field of physical therapy and is considered the highest clinical training in the PT profession accounting for the top 1% of physical therapists in the profession.
Dr. Enriquez started his career working inpatient rehabilitation at Valley Presbyterian hospital and the Southern California Orthopedic Institute. From there, he joined Huntington Rehabilitation in Pasadena, California, where he had the opportunity to work closely with professional soccer players from MLS, with an emphasis on outpatient orthopedics and ACL rehabilitation. He later planned and coordinated the center’s outpatient balance and vestibular clinic, while concurrently working in pediatric home health, specializing in early intervention. In 2005, Dr. Enriquez moved to Kauai and started working at Wilcox Hospital’s outpatient and inpatient departments, and was the first to introduce specialized vestibular rehabilitation to the island.
In 2008, Dr. Enriquez started Hawaii Sports and Balance Center with the mission of bringing new technology, evidence based physical therapy, and a new level of hands on care to the medically underserved community of Kauai. Dr. Enriquez exemplifies service to his community whether through organizing fall prevention and educational events for the Parkinson’s Support Group, the MS Society and the Agency for Elderly affairs, or injury prevention clinics at the Kauai Marathon. He has also served 2 years as the strength and conditioning coach for the Kauai High school basketball team.
Dr. Enriquez hopes to be able to continue to give back to his community, serve all his patients, and create opportunities for his team at Hawaii Sports and Balance Center who allow him to do what he loves every single day. He has instructed in advanced spinal manipulation at the Doctoral level and holds current academic roles in multiple institutions including Core Faculty for Hawaii Pacific University School of Physical Therapy and Affiliate Faculty for the Regis University Orthopedic Residency Program. He was chosen to represent the Hawaii Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association as the 2020 APTA Centennial Scholar, a distinction given to 100 physical therapists nationwide who have been individually selected to lead the profession for the next few years. He has presented multiple times at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting, the largest national convention for the physical therapy profession. Dr. Enriquez is the recipient of the 2023 Hawaii Pacific University Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching and the 2023 Regis University Fellowship Award for education and advocacy. Dr. Enriquez is a content reviewer for the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy. He is in the process of completing a faculty development residency at Duke University School of Medicine.
On his spare time, Meynard enjoys fishing, bow hunting, playing tennis and spending time with his family and children.
